FAQ’s

What forms of payment do you accept?  Cash, Credit Cards (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa) and in-State Checks.

Are children allowed?  Children are welcome.  We request they remain under the control of a parent or guardian during their entire visit.  Purely from a safety standpoint, we request children not roam our indoor and outdoor premises without the supervision of a parent or guardian.  We do not provide specific child-tailored activities.  You must be at least 21 years of age to stand at our tasting counters.

Are dogs allowed?  Dogs are welcome outdoors, on a leash and under the control of an owner during their entire visit.  Per Virginia Department of Health and Consumer Services regulations, we cannot allow animals in any building on our property where we manufacture and/or serve beverages and food.  Please clean up after your dog.

Is food available?  We have an assortment of lite fare available for purchase in our tasting room to enjoy before or after wine tastings:  cheese, salami, crackers, unique chocolate bars, spreads and other snack items.

Is there a restaurant on-site?  We do not have a restaurant, but we do sell self-service lite-fare as described above.  We can also recommend many great restaurants that are close by or on the way to your next destination.

Can we bring our own food?:   Customers of our tasting room can bring their own picnic lunches.

Can we bring our own alcohol?:  No.  Per VA Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations, we are not allowed to have alcoholic beverages other than those which we are licensed to produce on our premises.  Therefore, no outside alcohol is allowed.  Accordingly, we reserve the right to check coolers, bags and baskets.  If we find other alcoholic beverage on our property, we will ask everyone in your party to leave immediately.

Is Hiddencroft available for weddings?: We do not host weddings.

Are group reservations required?:  We are able to accommodate groups of 9 to no more than 20 people.  All group tastings require a reservation.  We schedule group tastings to occur on Monday-Friday, beginning at 11AM and scheduling our last tasting of the day to begin no later than 2:30PM.  Group tastings on weekends are available to case club members only, beginning at 11AM and scheduling our last tasting of the day to begin no later than 2:30.  Our Group Wine Tasting fee is $12/person.

Are limousines and buses allowed?  All limousines and buses must have an advance reservation, and adhere to the group reservation requirements described above, even if there are less than 9 people.  Limousines and buses who arrive without a reservation will be turned away.

Is Hiddencroft available for corporate events?:  Yes.  Call or e-mail for details.

Do you sell fruit wines?: Yes. We regularly produce and sell Cherry, Blueberry, Raspberry Blend, and Blackberry wines. Supplies change, so call or e-mail in advance for availability.

Can I purchase your wine on-line and have it shipped to me?  Yes, we ship to 37 states, including Virginia.  Click here to shop.  A person, over the age of 21, must be on hand to sign for your wine the day it is delivered.

Is the tasting room open year-round?:  Yes.  We are open on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  We are closed every Tuesday and Wednesday.  We are closed for the following Holidays:  Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Year’s Day.

Is there a place to sit and enjoy a glass or bottle of your wine?:  We have indoor seating for approximately 25 people on the second floor of our tasting house.  Outdoors, our deck seats about 30; we have a large patio with a fire-pit which seats an additional 40 people; there are a few picnic tables in grassy areas.  On days that our barn is in use, there is seating for about 75 people.

Do you have live music?:  We schedule live music performances to occur in Spring and Fall.  The performances are held on the patio behind our tasting house or in the large, open-air barn on our property.  Visit our Events tab to see all of our currently scheduled activities.

Is parking available?  Yes, in our private lot next to our barn.
