Dutchman’s Creek Blend – Fifth Release

April 18, 2026

A Tribute to Time and Terrain

Some wines tell a story. Dutchman’s Creek Blend tells several—of the land, the seasons, the grapes, and the people who helped shape it.

This fifth release of our signature red blend brings together Cabernet FrancCabernet SauvignonPetit Verdot, and Tannat—bold varietals from three different vintages, blended into a seamless expression of structure, depth, and harmony.

Richly layered with dark fruit, spice, and forest-floor complexity, this wine reflects not just expert craftsmanship, but a vineyard’s memory across time.

Why We Blend – and How We Choose

Dutchman’s Creek Blend has always been a celebration of collaboration and complexity. Our first three releases were shaped by our customers through blind tasting trials. Participants sampled and scored different blend ratios, and the top pick became the release.

For the fourth and fifth releases, our winemaking team crafted the blend in-house—drawing from years of experience, sensory analysis, and an evolving understanding of how these four grapes interact across vintages.

Each release is unique. What remains constant is its balanced structure and broad appeal—especially to lovers of full-bodied, age-worthy red wine.

What’s in a Name?

Blends, by nature, defy classification by a single grape. So they earn names—often whimsical or personal. Ours is deeply rooted in place.

Dutchman’s Creek runs along the southern border of our property. Its name, believed to have originated in the mid-1700s, reflects the area’s early settlers—German immigrants who established what became known as “The German Settlement”, now Lovettsville. The original “Deutschman’s Creek” was later anglicized to Dutchman’s Creek—a linguistic echo of those early pioneers.

This wine honors their legacy: strong, enduring, and shaped by the land.
